Parents were thus classified into different categories: authoritarian, indulgent, or neglectful. The study was conducted among 4983 adolescents aged 12 to 19 and their parents

Adolescents less susceptible massive alcohol have responsible parents who are interested in them. The children of responsible parents are also less likely to have friends who drink alcohol.
Indulgent parents, at any level of responsibility but can still be warm with their children, triple the risk of heavy drinking adolescents.
Parents the most authoritarian and stricter neglect the warmth of their relationship with their children, double the risk of heavy drinking of their children.
